The band story
Calaisa is a Swedish band from Malmö made up of two pairs of sisters, Lisa and Caisa Troedsson and Malin and Anna Törnquist. Originally busking on the streets, they’ve mastered the art of fusing raw Irish folk influences with the fresh pulse of modern countrypop. These women craft their own songs, taking cues from legends like The Beatles, Sheryl Crow, and Joni Mitchell, while carving out their own unique sound.
Their breakthrough came after locking down a record deal in Nashville, where their self-titled debut album struck gold—literally. Calaisa’s toured with Simply Red, LeAnn Rimes and Celine Dion, captivating audiences with their intoxicating melodies and tight harmonies. Known for their authenticity and edge, they’ve dropped several critically acclaimed albums, including Grafton Street, which snagged a Grammy nomination in 2009.
